Inside each and every one of us there is light. When magnified, this light reveals itself to be a grizzled Norse fisherman searching in the dark for a bit of a salted fish or vegetarian caviar. Today's Groupon feeds that hungry Norseman, conveniently snuffing that pesky inner light, which was keeping you up nights. Indulge in Scandinavian soul-fed harmony with today's deal: $10 gets you $25 worth of salty, potatoey, fishy, and vegetarian goodness at Domku. Located in the Petworth area, Domku is the perfect spot for warming up this winter and letting your inner Viking lay rough hands on an open farmer's cheese sandwich with chives and cucumber on Swedish rye ($6.50).

The atmosphere at Domku is a cross between fine dining and hanging out at your parents' house in 1989. Retro armchairs and couches provide a cozy spot to lounge with drinks, and a big chandelier hangs above the clean lines of the dining tables. Relax amid the exposed brick walls peppered with eclectic art as you peruse a mouth-watering menu of Slavic and Scandinavian dishes that includes numerous vegetarian options (for those who already ate a whole jar of herring on the bus ride over). Start with the Nordic fish plate, a trio of gravlax, pickled herring, and sprats served with garnishes and knackebrod ($13) to whet your appetite for the hearty fare.

Tear into a delicious Polska kielbasa and sauerkraut ($15.50) or savor Mama Alicja's pierogies ($12) with sour cream. Choose from mushroom and sauerkraut pierogies or potato, farmer's cheese, onion, and veggie bacon pierogies. You don't have to visit the dystopian nightmare maze that is Ikea to get your fill of delicious Swedish meatballs ($15.50): Domku's come in meat and meatless versions served with mashed potatoes and lingonberry preserves. Indulge in Czech potato dumplings sautéed with onions and topped with mushrooms, spinach, sage, kasza, and parmesan ($16) or tempt your tongue with creamed chicken tarragon ($16.50). If you're looking for something a little more hand-held, the spicy grilled cheese melts white cheddar, chili peppers, and cilantro on pain au levain ($7), giving you the reason you've always wanted to throw your Kraft singles into the blustery wind.
