This was my first experience at this winery, though I had tried their wines at the Virginia Wine Expo each year (before Covid). I had wanted to go and this was the perfect excuse. The folks were so incredibly friendly, their wine was fantastic (I bought a few bottles), and they served a warm baguette that was by far, without exception the best bread I have had in the 40+ years I've been living in Richmond. A few of went back a few weeks ago to enjoy the winery again, and the second experience was just as wonderful...and my friends bought a few bottles as well. I highly recommend DuCard!

Beautiful setting! Owner and staff are friendly. Due to pandemic had to have a wine flight rather than just a tasting but wines were very good (dry.) Will travel back again on our next visit to the area.

We had a fantastic time at DuCard Vineyards! The Groupon for cheese and a baguette were great eat while relaxing and sipping our glasses of wine. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the various wines being served as we did a tasting. We enjoyed our visit and will return again!

About DuCard Vineyards

Though DuCard Vineyards has only been around a few years, its property—situated on the edge of Shenandoah National Park—has yielded grapes for the last decade. At first, they formed the flavorful foundation of pours at a nearby winery, whose product went on to win best wine in the state at the Virginia Governor’s Cup. After this, DuCard's winemakers used the grapes to craft varieties for friends and families, and growing demand virtually willed DuCard Vineyards into existence soon thereafter.

Besides its meticulously sustainable operation, DuCard's grounds host a tasting room for sampling everything from raspberry-flavored reds to whites with hints of peach and lemon peel. A "hidden gem," according to The Madison Eagle, the vineyards also host numerous year-round events, including board-game days and live music more melodious than somebody tapping an empty wineglass until it's refilled.
