Harvest Moon Celebration Presented by Farmington DDA
When the harvest moon rises, that’s the cue for the people of Downtown Farmington to dance. This is the Harvest Moon Celebration, an annual event welcoming autumn. The festivities kick off on Thursday with a beer and wine tasting event featuring specially paired dishes crafted by local chefs. The Michigan Beer Guide’s Rex Halfpenny will be answering all questions and zen koans about craft brewing as Schoolcraft Community College’s wine instructor Lee Hershey shares his more grape-centric expertise near the wine tasting tables. Live music fills the twilight air with Petal Shop’s sepia-tinted American folk, Austin Scott’s rock-inflected country, and intermittent silence. The Harvest Moon Dance culminates on Friday with a set of classic covers from The Phoenix Theory and more tasty treats.
