What You'll Get
A good wine is a good multitasker, able to simultaneously entertain taste buds, breathe life into parties, and employ hydrated raisins. Support wine's efforts with today's Groupon: for $12, you get two tickets to an educational wine tasting at Filipo Marc Winery (a $24 value) in Clinton Township.
Voted #4 Best Wine Shop by WDIV in 2010 with Top 5 placements in the past four years and a 1st place win in 2007, Filipo Marc Winery combines quality pre-pressed grapes from vineyards around the globe to craft a multitude of compelling liquids. During their accessible and snobbery-free wine tastings, cured-grape-elixir sippers sample 15 selections from the wine list, which runs the gamut from sweet to dry. Glasses are paired with harmonious cheeses, crackers, and sausages to accentuate flavors. A full range of wine styles, from sanguine merlot or shiraz to blonde pinot grigio, parade playfully through patrons' mouths as erudite experts expound upon the wines' origins, flavor notes, and favorite Flintstones.
Groupon-holders who wish to be surrounded by familiar wine-lovers or indoctrinate beer-loving best friends can purchase extra Groupons to book a group tasting together. Tastings take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday–Friday and 5 p.m. on Saturday. The winery recommends tasters arrive 15 minutes early so the tasting can begin on time.

- The winery doesn’t grow its own fruit, but imports it from all over the world. Filipo Marc features at least 25 different fruity wines — including a pomegranate zinfandel — that have become popular with customers. – Amanda Lee, Macomb Daily
