About Filippo Ristorante

Filippo Ristorante's owners don't just have a vague idea of what Italian cuisine should be based on the recipes of a distant relative who once lived there. The Frattaroli family actually lives in a historical palazzo in Sulmona, Italy, for part of the year to immerse themselves in Italian culture. Using the recipes and influences of their roots, the family opened Filippo Restaurant, making it one of the first family-owned Italian restaurants in the North End.

Their menu transports Bostonians across the seas to the Abruzzo region, where their palazzo is located, with such dishes as thinly sliced cured beef crowned with shaved parmesan, gnocchi d'Abruzzo with chopped veal, and chicken breast rolled and stuffed with prosciutto and fontina cheese.

The restaurant has a large event space, and welcomes events of all sizes. For those who feel like they need to experience the region further, Filippo Ristorante's owners will even rent out their palazzo to patrons.
