- $13 for a 90-minute introductory signature pole-fitness dance class ($30 value)
Tailored for beginners, the 90-minute women-only introductory session lets potential students try out pole dancing before committing to a full-length course. Sessions begin with a candle-lit stretch and warm-up before first proceeding with foundational skills through Pilates and yoga, and then pole work. The class’s intention is to provide a fitness activity that also improves body acceptance, and does not involve stripping or intend to train women for adult entertainment. Yoga attire is strongly recommended. Students should bring a water bottle and a yoga mat, mats can be rented at the studio for $1.
Like many women before her, Flirt Fitness founder Amy was hesitant to try pole fitness. But when she realized just how much fun—and how effective—pole workouts could be, she couldn’t keep the secret to herself. She became a certified instructor and opened her own studio to share it with other women.
Amy’s pole-fitness classes fuse together multiple fitness disciplines, including exotic dance, Pilates, and yoga. Students graduate through eight levels of training, learning the basics in Pole Kitten classes and eventually graduating to advanced moves, such as holding on with a single finger. Amy also teaches private and semiprivate lessons and hosts bachelorette and birthday parties in her candlelit studio.
