Western swing band Asleep at the Wheel pays tribute to country legend and Texas Playboys bandleader Bob Wills—who died in 1973—during A Ride With Bob: The Bob Wills Musical. In the show, the ghost of Western swing pioneer Bob Wills visits Asleep at the Wheel frontman Ray Benson to chat about his illustrious career and teach him how to play a fiddle with a turkey leg. Amid witty dialogue and dramatic readings of the weather forecast every five minutes, Asleep at the Wheel blazes through spot-on covers of Wills’s greatest hits, including “San Antonio Rose” and “Take Me Back to Tulsa.”
