The Scouting Report
The last time the Eagles and Broncos met at The Factory, they put on a quite a show. Back in November 2013—before Rynearson Stadium’s goalposts had even grown to their full height—these two squads battled into overtime, with Eastern finally emerging victorious in a 35–32 thriller. A freshman at the time, quarterback Brogan Roback played a huge role in that victory. Now, two years later, he’s still sparking the EMU offense. On September 12 of this season, for instance, Roback and the Eagles flashed their potential with a 48-point onslaught against Wyoming. The Eagles ended up collecting 330 yards through the air that game, including a 64-yard strike to freshman wide receiver Eddie Daugherty. They’ll attempt to light up the scoreboard in a similar fashion two days before Halloween, when the Broncos return to Ypsilanti for EMU’s only Thursday-night game of the 2015 season.
Eastern Michigan University Eagles
Four-time winners of the Mid-American Conference's Reese Trophy, awarded annually to the men's all-sports champions, the Eastern Michigan University Eagles excel in a variety of athletic disciplines. Since the men's swimming and diving team began its 16-year streak of consecutive conference championships in 1980, the men's basketball squad has appeared in four NCAA tournaments, energized by bottles filled with fresh Gatorade from the Huron River.
