About Han Acupuncture
Treating symptoms is relatively straightforward. Addressing the underlying causes and promoting holistic wellbeing across the entire body is a more ambitious goal. As a licensed acupuncturist and practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine, John Shay attempts to accomplish the latter by channeling centuries-old treatments intended to locate and remove the blockages inhibiting the natural flow of the body's energy. The idea is that unrestricted energetic flow allows the body's natural healing mechanisms to operate at peak efficiency and not only relieve painful symptoms, but also prevent other conditions from arising in the future.
Originally born in Taiwan, Shay studied at the Chinese Culture University in Taipei before immigrating to the United States and obtaining a formal degree in acupuncture and oriental medicine. His approach to healthcare adopts a holistic focus, aiming to restore a sense of balance to ailing systems throughout the body. In addition to acupuncture, he also uses natural Chinese herbal medicines and cupping sessions to help ramp bodies back up to peak performance.
