History is like Frankenstein's monster; all it takes to make it come alive is the right education, a large body of artifacts exhumed from the earth, and an electrical storm. Learn from the past with today's Groupon to Heritage Hill State Historical Park on South Webster Avenue. Choose between the following options:
- For $25, you get a five-party or family membership (a $60 value).
- For $15, you get a two-party membership (a $30 value).
Heritage Hill State Historical Park is a living-history museum, dedicated to the preservation of buildings and artifacts of Northeast Wisconsin and its citizens. The 50-acre park houses carefully reproduced greenery and actual log cabins and buildings from the 1800s, such as a U.S. military fort hospital and a fur trader’s cabin, where mammals of all shapes and sizes would trade their dusty old pelts for feature-loaded furs. Heritage Hill State Historical Park also proudly displays a collection of more than 11,000 artifacts, including original artwork, books, clothing, and furnishings. To truly bring Wisconsin history to life, volunteers representing a way of life interact with park attendants, showing curious customers the various trades and methods of early Wisconsin living.
Members enjoy a horse-drawn cart's worth of benefits, including free admission to the park and all special events, unlimited tours (Tuesday–Sunday from Memorial Day to Labor Day), a 10% discount in the gift shop and on summer-camp programs, discounts on special museum programming, and a complimentary subscription to the "Heritage Hill Herald Newsletter." History-exploring couples can take advantage of the two-party membership, allowing one member and one guest, and a family of two adults and up to six children can partake in the family membership. The five-party membership allows entrance for five adults, perfect for groups of friends or the starting lines for blindfolded basketball teams.
