Visitors to Houston Axe Throwing get in touch with their inner Viking as they learn to hurl a 1.5lb. piece of spinning wood and metal, aiming for an elusive bullseye. Whether solo or in a group, participants work with trained “axeperts” for up to 2.5 hours to get a handle on the skill, picking up form, good approaches, and tips on nailing the bullseye. Once they feel comfortable, it’s time for a face-off where attendees compete in a group tournament that ends with the crowning of the Axe Throwing Champion.
Whether a team-building exercise, birthday party, or a unique date night, the thrill of landing a bullseye while a screaming group of fellow axe-throwers cheers is an exhilarating experience that visitors won’t soon forget. It’s also addictive; so much so that the folks in Houston have started their own leagues so enthusiasts can get their axe-throwing fix on the regular.

About Houston Axe Throwing
When darts gets boring, some people move on to archery. And when archery loses its luster, others find the extreme thrills they crave with axe throwing. Yes, literal 1.5-pound axes hurled at wooden bull's-eyes set up in an indoor range.
It's a growing sport with its own North American league, the National Axe Throwing Federation. (Even before that, it was an event in lumberjack competitions.) At Houston Axe Throwing, visitors square off against one another in a group tournament that will crown the axe-throwing champion of their birthday celebration, team-building activity, or bachelor party. But first, they spend time with a trained expert learning how to safely handle an axe and developing proper technique for the most accurate throws.
