The logo for Lazy Joe's evokes a sense of timeless charm: it shows a kid, his straw hat pulled low over his eyes, lazily dropping a fishing line into the water as a fish chomps eagerly at the bait. Of course, any good restaurateur knows it's not that easy to catch great seafood. In fact, Lazy Joe's goes to great lengths to secure the best. The menu features wild-caught white clams, lobster rolls made with 100% Maine lobster, and po' boys loaded with fresh shrimp. Of course, fish 'n' chips is their specialty, and for it the restaurant uses fresh, not frozen or instant, cod, haddock, or catfish crisped in gluten-free breading.

The same care goes into the sides, with cooks cutting russet potatoes for french fries and slicing and hand-breading mozzarella for cheese sticks. Most menu items are made to order, including traditional Mediterranean dishes and Chicago-style hot dogs sourced from Vienna Beef in Illinois.
