About Liberatory Learners LLC
Liberatory Learners is an interdisciplinary school that finds solutions to real world problems by solving them collaboratively in real time through Minecraft, Literacy, Film, Vegan Culinary Arts, and Movement. Dynamic, Methodical, and Environmentally driven, Liberatory Learners integrates a wide variety of knowledge that draws from Theatre and Performance, Creative Writing, Women and Gender Studies, Community Development and Planning, Music, Film, Culinary Arts, Permaculture and Environmentalism. Depending on age and ability, each student is responsible for keeping a daily journal. Students are expected to present their work in any form they choose. This can range from film, play, slideshow, song, dance, puppetry or a research paper. Students who sign up for the 6 week course will be automatically entered into the second half of the course for 25% off. We will research environmental solutions, contact companies and create partnerships with compostable alternative solutions. We will understand for ourselves, what "intersectionality" means, the the role that gender plays and its effects on city planning, businesses, politics, education and healthcare. We will re-write our stories while investigating our racial and cultural histories as it pertains to current politics, infrastructure, and philosophy. We will build our solutions in Minecraft. In the adult class, students will form pod groups that will become direct liaisons between restaurants, plastic manufacturing companies, vegan chefs, animal and food based non-profits, local farms, schools and alternative zero-waste businesses to create real life solutions for the current plastic production problem. Minecraft serves as a platform to virtually illustrate our new world, its operative heart, and new systems that promote global union and peace. By re-creating alternative realities with the environment, our well-being, and animals as the guiding forces behind our creations, we manifest a new world through the partnerships that we make throughout the course in real life, propelling our current realities into a war-free future.
