What You'll Get
The way to someone's heart may be through the stomach, but that doesn’t justify dressing like a prune and encouraging a love interest to swallow you whole. Dine on edible love-food with today’s Groupon: for $7, you get $15 worth of sandwiches, paninis, salads, drinks, and more at M Café in Old Town.
Situated inside the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, the locally owned M Café offers a simple yet enticing menu of made-fresh-to-order fare. For starters, guests can gulp a raspberry-vinaigrette-dressed cranberry-walnut chicken salad ($7.25), then progress to a French hot panini ($6.95) with ham, swiss, and dijon grilled on herb focaccia. Veggie lovers can avail themselves of a tomato-basil, tortilla-encased garden wrap ($6.95) stuffed with legumes green, yellow, red, and invisible, whereas connoisseurs of meat might sample an Italian toasted hoagie ($7.25) with salami, capicola, and ham. Once guests’ primary stomachs have become engorged, they can easily switch to a secondary to accommodate an Albuquerque baked potato ($6.49) with grilled chicken, green chilies, jack cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and whipped butter.
Though museum admission is not required to enjoy M Café’s checkerboard floor tiling, love affair with the color orange, and smooth, metallic interior, guests can still appreciate views of Stan, the museum’s friendly T. rex skeleton, and interactive tables that offer a real-time museum experience by time-warping diners back to the Cretaceous period. M Café also offers breakfast, desserts, coffee, and a kids menu.
Valid for dine-in only.
In 2008, M Café was named Best Undiscovered Gem by the readers of Weekly Alibi magazine in its Best of Burque Restaurants feature. It also tied for third place for Best Cup of Coffee and earned second place for Best Sandwich, both in 2008. Four TripAdvisors give it 4.5 owl eyes.
