Michigan’s Adventure Boot Camp fosters an inviting yet challenging fitness atmosphere where women of all ages, skill levels, and abilities convene for 5:30 a.m. classes, held five days per week indoors or outdoors depending on location and weather. Free from the competitive environment of a typical gym or hopscotch tournament, the camp employs certified trainers to help participants achieve higher levels of fitness. Each class takes students through a varying suite of high-energy, calorie-pulverizing exercises that might include core conditioning, short-distance running, or obstacle courses. Trainers recommend that participants bring running shoes, an exercise mat, a heckling parrot to provide extra motivation, and a water bottle. A set of hand weights or dumbbells ranging from 5 to 10 pounds is required, with beginners starting at 5 pounds.
Michigan's Adventure Boot Camp for Women
Each boot camp spans four weeks of exercise, with classes held up to five days a week. Classes might meet indoors or out, depending on which of the nine locations a client chooses to attend, but the regimen of exercise remains the same. Trainers cook up new routines daily, which might include fitness kickboxing, jump-roping, obstacle courses, or sport yoga, in which the class plays a scrimmage using the first student who manages to contort themselves into the shape of a football.
