Nice course

Mile Square Park is beautiful, well-maintained and full of all types of activities for all ages. In the past, we have enjoyed both of the 18 hole golf courses and, most recently, we tried the Foot Golf that's available starting at 4:30. The Foot Golf course is cleverly embedded into the Classic course with sign posts that lead players in sequence to the next Tee. Mile Square Park seems to have something for everyone.

This is so much fun! Perfect for families. Keep in mind you're covering a lot of territory, so you probably don't want to take little kids because the course will be just way too big.

What You'll Get

Like suntans and the ability to throw knives at apples on top of totem poles, golf skills disappear if you don't keep working at them. Keep the magic alive with today's Groupon: for $28, you get nine holes of golf for two (up to a $56 value) at Mile Square Golf Course in Fountain Valley.

Mile Square Golf Course displays two separate courses designed by architect David Rainville, both of which sport well-maintained greens. The par 72 Classic course, which was given a rating of 71.2 by a middle-school math teacher, tempts swingers with straight fairways and greens that are not on fire. Slightly longer in stature, the neighboring par 72 Players course challenges long and short games, with a 2001 addition of water hazards, bunkers, and a frozen-yogurt hose on the 14th hole.

Twenty-two Yelpers give Mile Square Golf Course an average of 3.5 stars, and four Citysearchers give it an average of four stars:

  • The layout is very good. The 1st couple of holes are fairly unchallenging, but don't let that fool you, there are plenty of well designed sand and water hazards ready to snatch poor shots. – golfer81, Citysearch
  • The driving range is huge and the practice putting greens are larger than any other course or facility in the area. Also, there is a practice bunker and chipping area adjacent to the practice greens that no one seems to know about. – Dan N., Yelp, 11/21/10
