Having a baby often keeps parents from taking part in the hobbies they once loved, such as working out or sleeping in empty bassinets. Set aside some time with today's Groupon.

Mommies wander into the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church gym—or two other locations coming soon—clutching tots aged two months and older for 45 minutes of bonding and fitness under the auspices of full-time moms and certified personal trainers Natalie and Stacey. Guests congregate Mondays at 8:30 a.m., Wednesdays at 9 a.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. to squat and lunge their way through a round of patty cake, before singing soft lullabies and When the Levee Breaks lyrics to their tiny ones and clutch their abs in plank formation. Play areas entertain toddlers and their attention spans as mommies stretch and sweat on mats or security blankets brought from home. Starting January 30, classes will be held on Mondays at 8:30 a.m. at Mountaintop Community Church in Birmingham; starting February 2, classes will be held on Thursdays at 1 p.m. at Shades Crest Baptist Church Family Life Center in Hoover.
Mommy And Me Time
Full-time moms and certified trainers host each Mommy And Me Time session in the spirit of camaraderie, building a supportive environment that encourages patrons to share their fitness goals with one another. Fitness classes obviate the need for moms to find a sitter when they work out, as children are a part of each session and absorb the importance of physical wellbeing by participating or serving as cuddly free-weights in a regimen of cardio and strength routines. Core-refining ab training complements tension-unwinding stretch sessions to work out limbs, and the staff excuses any tots that don't develop six-packs or the ability to bench press their own bassinet. They also accommodate wee ones with a play area for exploring once they decide they are finished with the regular workout.
