During this excursion, passengers will be joined by a crew of bootleggers using the train to bring whiskey from the mountains to the Columbia River. The train often rolls past idyllic vineyard landscapes and blossoming orchards, and a 90-minute stop at Parkdale lets passengers stretch their legs in the fresh mountain air before the return trip. Concessions are available on the train for an added cost, and a BBQ lunch is available for $10 per person (not included with this Groupon). Parking available for $5 per vehicle (not included in Groupon).

Mount Hood Railroad

Taking a scenic tour aboard Mount Hood Railroad is like stepping back in time. You can almost smell the freshly picked fruit and milled wood that grows just beyond the train's windows as it rolls through the Hood River Valley—products that have been carried along the 22-mile track since the Oregon Lumber Company built the short-line railroad in 1906.

While aboard, Mount Hood and Mount Adams provide picturesque backdrops. According to The Railroad Nation, the railroad's newly-renovated 1955 Pullman club car combines historic nostalgia with modern amenities. Passengers are also welcome to taste some regional flavors from freshly-prepared meals sourced from local ingredients made right on the train.

Customer Reviews

The train was great - its not a fast moving, speedy train - it's just a nice train ride through the country side with some great views of the mountains. Our 4 year old loved it.
