In the late 1800s, thousands of Texans struck it rich when they tapped into veins of thick, dark, tangy barbecue sauce (as chronicled in the Oscar-winning film There Will Be Sauce). Today’s Groupon gives you the chance to taste this natural bounty while it’s still hot from the earth: for $12, you get $25 worth of barbecue and drinks at Rib City Grill in American Fork. The eatery’s American Fork location was recently decreed one of the best barbecue destinations in the Utah Valley by the Daily Herald.
Rib City Grill serves up a decadent menu of bunned barbecue sandwiches, signature ribs, and smokehouse selections. Start with an order of crispy fried okra ($3.99), served with a refreshing pool of ranch dressing, or opt for a bowl of the three-cheese fries ($7.95) before moving on to the meaty main course. A rack of tender house-specialty ribs ($15.99) comes with garlic bread and a choice of two traditional southern sides (such as the made-from-scratch, pressure-cooked baked beans), as do basted barbecue delicacies such as the pork dinner ($9.29), slow cooked over blackjack oak, and the wood-smoked beef meal ($9.69). Rib City Grill also offers up combo platters (starting at $13.99) that allow the commitment phobic to sample the meat rainbow and the to-go “picnic packs” (starting at $14.99) with enough savory selections and sides to serve 2–10 hungry hikers.
Rib City Grill’s casual and welcoming atmosphere is enhanced by the Texas-themed trinkets that adorn the walls and the friendly and helpful staff willing to advise indecisive diners on which meal to order or tech stock to invest in. With sweet meal-concluding selections such as the homemade coconut-cream pie ($3.25) or the classic southern pecan pie ($3.50), a meal at Rib City Grill promises to satisfy even the most insatiable sugar daddy.

In addition, Urbanspooners give it an 80% approval rating, and Google Mappers give it four stars: > * Wonderful tender ribs that fall off the bone! – Pennything, Urbanspoon > * I have been eating at Rib City for three years now!!! I have not once had a bad experience. – Jeron, Google Maps
Rib City Grill
There are knives on the tables at Rib City Grill, but you won't need them if you order the baby-back ribs. These ribs are basted in signature barbecue sauce, smoked until they're fall-off-the-bone tender, and then slow-cooked over hardwoods. The eatery's cooks even back their baby-back ribs with a bold claim—if you have to use a knife, they're on the house.
Baby-back ribs aren't the only specialty at Rib City Grill. Diners can also chow down on St. Louis–style ribs, burgers, and pulled-pork sandwiches on jumbo buns. Sides such as three-cheese fries sprinkled with bacon bits and fried okra round out meals, along with glasses of beer.
