Rockefeller's Oyster Bar and Grill
There's no single, unimpeachably correct way to serve an oyster, and the culinary team at Rockefeller's Oyster Bar and Grill proves it. Led by executive chef Don Kruse, chefs serve up their namesake shellfish in nearly every classic preparation. Their repertoire includes oysters on ice, oysters fried in cornmeal, and oysters Rockefeller: baked with a bacon, parmesan, and spinach mix whose exact proportions are a closely guarded secret. No matter the recipe, every oyster arrives tableside with the fresh taste of the ocean from which it was (very recently) caught.
The culinary team complements their oysters with other fresh seafood, from grilled Atlantic salmon to sauteed lake perch served with tartar sauce. Other offerings live up to the "grill" part of the eatery's name, such as the bacon burger, the new york strip steak, and the mac and cheese—although the latter arrives at the table studded, glamorously, with lobster pieces.
