Sleigh-drawn tours make sightseeing easier since the gravitational pull of large, powerful horses draws landmarks nearer. Employ gravity as Newton intended with today’s Groupon: for $37, you get one 30-minute sleigh ride for two from Rocky Mountain Outfitters in Midway (a $75 value).

Rocky Mountain Outfitter’s outdoorsmen usher customers across snow-covered hills and pathways inside a traditional horse-drawn sleigh. Patrons don their warmest coats and most potent anti-pterodactyl spray before climbing aboard a cold-weather conveyance to traverse Homestead Resort. A sturdy team of clydesdales, belgians, and spotted-draft horses easily pulls sleighs across tree-lined roads and open fields glistening with icicles and powder. Not to be outdone by the awe-inducing landscapes, roving wildlife, such as snow rabbits and fawns, frolic about the plains for memorable photo ops or police sketch-artist renderings. Groups of six or fewer ($20/extra rider) cozy up in an intimate, small sleigh, and crowds of up to 15 can apply this Groupon to the price of a more spacious vessel ($225 value). Rocky Mountain Outfitters also supplies guests with wool blankets to protect against nippy weather.

Mountains echo with the clicking of hooves on rocks as mountain vegetation waves in the breeze and the sun glistens on snow-dappled trails. Schools of fish scatter as a pair of slick rubber boots parts the waters—a fisher wading through thick river sediment before casting a line into the current. Rocky Mountain Outfitters' experienced outdoorsmen usher customers through all manner of seasonal wilderness adventures, including fly-fishing on the Provo River, snowmobile tours, and horseback riding along mountain trails. Many tours run through Soldier Hollow Valley, which played host to the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Visitors may encounter roving wildlife such as snow rabbits, moose, and fawns frolicking through varied landscapes for memorable photo ops or police sketch-artist renderings. Adventure packages combine more than one outdoor activity and include the Reins and Train adventure, a role-playing tour that merges a train trip with a horseback trail ride. Depending on the season, guests can board traditional wagons or horse-drawn sleighs towed by teams of clydesdales, belgians, and spotted draft, or they can lasso free-range dinner rolls during Old West–style outdoor meals.

Dress up warm and go when it's darker. It's a lot of fun.
