What You'll Get
Unlike visiting a new neighbor’s house, visiting a steakhouse comes with a virtual guarantee that you’ll be welcomed, fed, and trusted with knives. Make a hunger-halting house call with today’s Groupon: for $25, you get $50 worth of steaks, seafood, and wine at Seven Seas in Hartland.
Overlooking Lake Nagawicka, Seven Seas serves a palatable menu of finely prepared meats and fresh seafood, along with more than 500 wines from around the world. Diners can furnish exquisite fermented sippers with digestive companions, such as the rumaki Seven Seas, a starter of chicken liver and water chestnuts wrapped in bacon and smoked salmon canapés with mustard-lime sauce ($10).
After shifting stomachs into gear, mouth motors can sample Chilean sea bass glazed in an orange-chipotle reduction and resting on a bed of spanish rice ($32) or gnaw on a 14-oounce cut of slow-roasted Black Angus prime rib served with Yorkshire pudding and a baked potato ($28). For smaller stomachs or refined garden gnomes, the Thursday tapas menu boasts little nibbles such as skewered Bourbon Street barbeque catfish ($7) and dijon salmon mousse and herbed goat cheese napoleons on pumpernickel crostini ($7).
The century-old building nestles atop beautiful gardens that meander toward the lake, presenting an uninterrupted view of the setting sun and occasional glimpses of rarely seen aquatic cryptids from the dining room, outdoor terraces, and bar. Guests can stop in for lighter fare at lunch or reward victorious crossword solvers with champagne Sunday brunch.
