What You'll Get
Without photographers, beautiful faces and cheesy smiles would run rampant looking for an audience, resulting in grinning bank robbers impulsively unmasking themselves in front of surveillance cameras. Practice your smile without the jail time with today’s Groupon: for $49, you get a photo shoot (up to 90 minutes) from Shannon Whitaker Photography, plus a CD of digital images (a $150 value).
Shannon Whitaker fosters a fun, laid-back atmosphere during her fervid snap shooting in order to best immortalize her clients' personalities. First, the skilled shutterbug consults with her subjects to help them pick the most flattering apparel and shoot location. As a natural-light photographer, she prefers shooting in the open fields and farms near her studio, but customers can opt for any location within 30 miles of downtown Gainesville, including privately owned nooks inside of oversize bird cages. Shannon sometimes takes hundreds of photographs during shoots, which can accommodate up to six people, or even more for an extra $5 per person. Postshoot, the postsnapped are rewarded with 20–25 of the day's best pictures burned onto a CD, then cooled with ice. Before burning, all images are carefully and subtly manipulated to remove unflattering blemishes, improve contrast, and erase ill-timed UFO sightings.

About Shannon Whitaker Photography
With a penchant for outdoor shoots and eco-friendly practices, the shutterbugs of Shannon Whitaker Photography preserve connections between their portrait subjects and the world around them. They travel to Gainesville's urban and rural locales from a boutique studio, amassing honest snapshots of families, expectant mothers, infants, couples, and teens. Though they deftly capture standard poses, they prefer to snag the creative, split-second stills that speak to the client's individuality. To this end, they provide personalized consultations and maintain a meticulous attention to detail for each photo collection.
The business's environmentally conscious methods cut down on photographic waste without requiring the staff to make their prints collage-style out of images from past shoots. Their packaging is recyclable, and they can build photo albums from vegan materials on request.
