For the chefs at Soul, there isn't just one authentic style of Southern comfort food. That's why they created a menu that combines the spicy, homey dishes of both the deep South and Latin culture. They cook up everything from po boys to Cubanos sandwiches to fried chicken, which they serve with classic sides such as collard greens and fried plantains. And since everything is cooked to order, the smells of pork pan-frying with garlic and penne simmering in a spicy Creole white wine sauce permeate the entire dining room. Even the drinks have a true Southern and soul food flavor, thanks to staff who whip up chicha—a juice made from purple corn—as well as iced tea sweet enough to turn an evil villain into an ice cream man.

Love this place! One of my go to in Tacoma. The owners are super sweet. Service is just awesome. Great atmosphere. Hands down the best mac n cheese & greens you'll ever have. Definitely worth the try. Remember, authentic fresh cooked food takes time!

Very good food except salad did not contain ingredients listed on menu. Good service by a pleasant young lady. Catfish was very good. Red bean side dish was very good. Even with the large crowd, dinner was served soon after order was placed. Interesting decor,unique setting.
