If the Hundred Years' War had been fought with paintballs instead of rifles, it might still be happening, but it'd be so colorful that no one would mind. Experience your own vibrant battlefield with today's deal: for $22, you get an all-day equipment rental plus 200 paintballs (a $45 value) at Splat Action Paintball. Groupon customers can jump into open play at Splat Action, which is located in Molalla about an hour outside of downtown, on either Saturday or Sunday 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
Leave trim tape and touch-up brushes at home; all gear is provided, including heavy-duty camo adorned with a harness system that spills paint faster than a bull in a preschool art room. Clutching a semiautomatic with unlimited gas refills, mow down lines with pastel pigment until the last man cries out for laundry detergent. Start with 200 paintballs and reload throughout the day for $10 per 200 balls or $20 for 500.
Splat Action's field map includes 15 obstacle-laden fields sprawled across 47 acres of wooden canvas. Players can run, but they can also hide in towers, bunkers, foxholes, tents, streams, and tree houses where girls are allowed to unleash fury on the prohibitive clubhouse leaders who scorned them. Plus, there are covered picnic areas for lunchtime refueling. Spectators are allowed in free of charge, though their outfits may be graphically redesigned. A reservation is required.
Reviews
Splat Action Paintball has dozens of satisfied comments from PBReviewers:
- Excellent Field! Lots of field to play, depending on preference. This paintball field has a [sic] airball field, a smaller speedball field, and huge woodsball field! – AOA07
- the field was absolutely amazing…the field is large so it is capable of handling a lot of people with out feeling crowed and it is very well set up with the different bunkers and bases that are set up plus the shrubs and trees around make it easy to hide from incoming paint balls. – theloanwolf072

About Splat Action Paintball
Normally, tree houses are hideaways where kids can relax with a comic book, hang out with friends, or pretend they didn’t hear their mothers assigning them chores. At Splat Action, however, they're a refuge from incoming pellets fired from semi-automatic paintball guns, not to mention a safe space to strategize next moves. The same goes for the bunkers, foxholes, and towers also populating the park's 47 wooded acres, which boast 15 playing fields speckled with streams, trails, and trees.
Teams comprised of players aged 10 and up clash on these fields under the supervision of veteran referees, participating in frequent scenario games or weekend walk-on games. Target ranges help sharpen each player's shot before games begin, and a covered picnic area accommodates spectators who are admitted into the park for free.
