What You'll Get
Some people are born to run; some are born to scramble up and down walls and ceilings like a Tokay gecko. Unleash your inner lizard with today's Groupon to climbers' paradise: for $30, you get an all-day climbing pass, gear rental, and an introductory lesson at Stone Age Rock Gym (a $62.75 value).
Before exploring the gym's 4,500 square feet of climbable indoor terrain and 32-foot-tall lead routes with an all-day climb pass ($15.25), climbers must take a 90-minute safety/belay lesson ($35) to learn proper climbing techniques and safety skills to avoid injury while punching gravity in the gizzards. Lessons are held daily at 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. Professional rock-climbing instructors will guide vertical trekkers through the interactive lesson before students are free to chart their own skyward course. Strap into the necessary climbing gear ($12.50) and join novice wallflowers and Everest-bullying belayers alike as you boulder, top-rope, and scuttle up and across Stone Age Rock Gym's surfaces.
As you climb the wall, you may play out fantasies in your imagination about the wall climbing you in return. And as indoor climbing enters your life, you may discover that you have trouble accurately carrying out everyday tasks, such as brushing your teeth or feeding baby elephants, because you are unable to shift your consciousness away from the joys of climbing. Call ahead to schedule your lesson and day of climbing at Stone Age Rock Gym.
Participants must sign a waiver, and participants under the age of 18 are required to have the signature of a parent or guardian.

About Stone Age Rock Gym
Within Stone Age Rock Gym's indoor facility, 4,500 square feet of textured climbing walls help visitors ascend to new heights. Bouldering, 32-foot lead routes, and top-rope climbing areas await gym guests, surrounding them in technicolor handholds that creep up the walls at challenging angles. Elsewhere, a simulated ice-climbing wall absorbs the blows of axes, and a gear shop preps climbers to ascend walls with the dexterity of Spiderman.
A staff of certified guides lead classes that teach students as young as 6 the fundamental skills needed to ascend simulated peaks. Alternatively, the experts head up guided climbing trips to sites across the state. They help eager climbers scale the 30-foot Wolf Rock in Mansfield Hollow and reach the Sasquatch hugs awaiting them atop Ragged Mountain's 120-foot cliff.
