What You'll Get
Unlike Similac Baby Formula, which is reserved for babies and experimenting teens, beer can be consumed by adults. Separate the towerers from the toddlers with today’s Groupon: for $25, you get a brewery tour, tasting, and chips and salsa for two plus a 64-ounce growler of beer at Sudwerk Restaurant & Brewery in Davis (a $50 value).
Sudwerk Brewery’s tour and tasting demystifies craft-beer production by sending laymen on an educational expedition through the brewery. After following the route of raw hops, malts, and barley through the brewery facilities as they alchemize themselves into a series of sudsy elixirs, pairs of connoisseurs head into the Sudwerk tasting room to test their newfound knowledge by quaffing 5-ounce shots of four beers—lager, pilsner, märzen, hefeweizen, or other beers. Patrons nibble on a basket of complimentary chips and salsa in between sips as they weigh the pros and cons of each style on their taste buds, gathering crucial intel to decide which one to cart home for the spouse or pet in their new, 64-ounce Sudwerk growler.
Established in 1989, Sudwerk Brewery crafts its beer with all-natural ingredients and no preservatives, and serves as the home of the UC Davis Masters in Brewing program, which allows Sudwerk's brewers to pass on their beercow milking skills to a new generation. Brewery tours operate Fridays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.; ample parking is available on site.

About Sudwerk Brewing Co.
Sudwerk Brewing Co. is passionate about its pours. The craft brewery has been making award-winning, German-style lagers for more than 21 years. To sample the brewers' spectrum of libations, visitors head to the tasting room, a simple setup right on the brewery's loading dock. Its menu of craft lagers rotates regularly, rewarding frequent visitors with specialty beers. Meanwhile, tours of the whole facility teach visitors how beer is made, packaged, and distributed. After visiting the facility, patrons can fill up a growler with their favorite beer to take home, drink, and bring back to Sudwerk Brewing Co. for refills.
