Took our thirty-something nephew when he visited DC. Enjoyed the circular booth and view of restaurant. Food was delicious and service was friendly. fyi - it's a "bar" atmosphere...

Ordered all the Thai dishes - green curry was good but kind of runny and wished it had a thicker sauce; deep fried tilapia with basil sauce was good!

What You'll Get

With your kitchen's pots and pans inhabited by the evil spirits of dead pots and pans, cooking at home has become both time consuming and spooky. Get quality cuisine without interference from crazed kitchenware with today's Groupon: for $20, you get $40 worth of Thai and Japanese cuisine at Tara Temple, located in Arlington. This Groupon is not valid during happy hour.

Tara Temple builds a banquet of a bridge between the culinary traditions of Thailand and Japan with its menu of Far East favorites. For starters, try the chicken satay ($6), skewered chunks of chicken glazed in peanut sauce and cucumber relish, or the sinus-clearing tom yum soup ($5). Main dishes include standard Thai sustenance such as curry and noodle bowls, as well as Japan-centric fare such as sushi. Wade through the wealth of the tofu-filled green curry ($11), kick consumption up a nourishing notch with the spicy salmon roll ($6.50), or opt for onomatopoeic opulence with the stir-fried crispy-duck kapow ($13), dressed in a Thai basil sauce. Tara Temple's lunch menu serves up bento boxes containing items such as beef katsu ($11) or shrimp tempura ($13). All bento boxes come with a six-piece California roll, miso soup, and house salad. The seaweed salad ($5) and the house salad ($7), dressed in your choice of dressing such as ginger or mustard soy, offer options for vegetarians and cannibalistic heads of lettuce.

Tara Temple offers up several different dining spaces—the main restaurant space facilitates feasting with high-backed booths and sultry lighting, whereas the lounge is ideal for late-night libation consumption and DJ-dictated absorption of beats. A friendly wait staff is also on hand to offer suggestions and decipher spice levels. Bow to the gods of gastronomic goodness with a meal at Tara Temple.

This Groupon is valid for dine-in only.
