What You'll Get
Sharing food is something we all learn as children, whether it’s passing a despised beet to the family dog or sneaking Ho Hos to the weird guy living in the basement who looks like Santa Claus. Pass your plate with today’s Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of tapas, salads, and flatbreads at Terra Restaurant & Bar.
Terra’s menu is a lazy Susan of gourmet dishes prepared using local ingredients, with an emphasis on smaller, tapas-style entrees intended to be shared among a group. Vegetarian magicians and their rabbit partners will enjoy the tomato caprese salad, a magic show of locally grown beefsteak tomatoes and house-made mozzarella drizzled with a balsamic deduction and garnished with basil emulsion ($7.95). The freshly shaved asparagus and razor-sliced Black Forest ham holing up on a flatbread with garlic-parmesan béchamel sauce is sure to please those with carnivorous cravings ($8 half, $12 full). The elegant interior and patio were made for sharing plates and conversation, and the smoked-salmon platter with capers, red onion, lemon, hard-boiled egg, radish, and fresh baguettes with roasted garlic-goat-cheese spread ($7, 4 oz.; $12, 8 oz.) and the pork and greens, a herd of mini pork shanks braised in wild-mushroom burgundy demi-glace on top of collard greens ($11), provide delicious topics for a tête-à-tête or spirited soiree.
Live jazz and R&B on weekend nights add to the upscale charm, as does the atmospheric lighting and colorful art on the walls. Although this Groupon is not valid for alcohol, Terra also serves more than 65 wines and has a full bar. Events such as $5 Tapas Tuesday, Wednesday's Girls Night Out, and Friday's Rocky Horror Picture Show Night help liven things up. Reservations are required.
