What You'll Get
Unlike guided writing classes, which can end in allegations of plagiarism, guided painting classes usually end in accusations of being Van Gogh. Find yourself guilty with today’s Groupon to The Funky Paintbrush. Choose between the following options:
- For $12, you get one two-hour BYOB adult painting class (a $25 value).
- For $34, you get three two-hour BYOB adult painting classes (a $75 value).
Students may register for three-hour classes and pay the difference.
Amiable art instructors lead synchronized painting classes that enable students to produce their own masterwork. Pupils first cover pedestrian clothing in protective aprons that are impermeable to pigments and artistic-juice overflows. Instructors then knight each student with a regal brush, a blank 16”x20” canvas, an easel, and acrylic paints. As pigment protégés mimic their instructor’s graceful brushstrokes, an assistant traverses the room, offering advice on application techniques and creative interpretations of tax codes.
Prospective students can peruse the calendar for a list of classes, with painting subjects ranging from a Tuscan landscape to an abstracted rendering of the Eiffel Tower; new classes enter the rotation monthly. Paint-splattered doors fling open 45 minutes before each session, giving participants ample time to choose paint colors, sip their home-brought beverages, and converse in Spanish, French, Chinese, or eyebrow twitches with the multilingual staff. Groupon customers can upgrade to a three-hour class for $10 upon arrival.

About Picasso's Corner
Picasso's Corner's imaginative artists offer step-by-step instruction to guide students of all skill levels as they craft 16"x20" paintings. Classes, running either two hours Tuesday-Wednesday or three hours Thursday-Saturday, are scheduled at 7 p.m. and include all necessary materials such as acrylic paint, brushes, high-powered paintball guns, easels, aprons, and canvases. At the studio only, patrons may use provided bottle openers and cups during class to enjoy self-supplied beer, wine, and snacks. The studio's three-hour open-studio sessions offer a more independent painting session devoid of step-by-step instruction and performance-enhancing hugs.
