What You'll Get
The beach provides mankind with a tranquil place to admire the ocean, contemplate the tide’s mysteries, and gather an endless supply of hourglass refills. Take in the surf with today’s Groupon: for $10, you get your choice of a one-hour stand-up paddleboard rental (a $20 value) or $20 worth of breakfast, lunch fare, and drinks at The Sup Cafe and retail shop, located on Sixty-Second Street on the Long Beach Peninsula.
The Sup Cafe and shop furnish surf 'n' turf enthusiasts with stand-up paddleboards, lessons, and hearty caloric energy from their convenient beach location. Spend an aqueous hour on a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) with the shop’s wide variety of boards, from entry-level stable cruisers to 12-pound racing machines. Stand-up paddleboarding, the groovy great-great-grandmother of modern surfing, uses a one-bladed paddle for skimming across the waves and awkward jousting matches with armed seagulls. Though stand-up paddleboarding is an invigorating activity for most hominids, those younger than 12 or unable to swim proficiently must don a personal flotation device.
Beachgoers can also choose to snack on the café’s full-service menu of breakfast and lunch treats complemented by a hearty dose of java. Morning larks can nosh on a breakfast burrito packed with beans, cheese, and egg ($7.95), a growth-stunted stack of pancakes ($4.95), or two eggs, served any style with helpings of hash browns and toast ($5.95). Those who don’t believe in breakfast or are generally confused about what time it is may prefer to crunch a cheeseburger with fries ($8.95), dig into a garden salad ($4.95), or imbibe a hectic procession of cappuccinos ($3).
Five Yelpers give The Sup Café a 4.5-star average:
