Mood rings offer convenient color-coded glimpses into our emotional state: red indicates stress, yellow suggests blinding rage, and green means rich in vitamins, cellulose, and fiber. Indulge in delicious food to suit every mood with today's Groupon to Treehugger's Café in Berea. Choose between the following options:
- $15 for $30 worth of dinner fare
- $10 for $20 worth of lunch fare
Led by Chef Shana Trepal, Treehugger's delivers healthy, creative fare with big taste and a small environmental footprint. Nearly all ingredients used are organic, and produce from local farms is used whenever possible, creating a lunch and dinner menu that is free from manufactured meal miscreants such as hormones and chemicals. Giant-panda paninis (menu categories are named after endangered species) feature the manatee grilled-eggplant panini, topped with carmelized onions, buffalo mozzarella, and basil pesto ($9), and Siberian-tiger salads ($6–$10) include the 2010 farmers-market RAW salad. Treehugger's blue- whale burgers ($9–$10) are actually made of delicious ground black beans, chick peas, chicken, or oats, grilled to kind-hearted perfection and available with regular or sweet-potato fries (add $2.95).
Aside from using only compostable and recyclable containers, the funky, laid-back restaurant was designed using as much recyclable material as possible, accounting for the sandwich press made from the reclaimed wooden teeth of George Washington. In addition to delivering healthy fare and vegan options, Treehugger's hosts an open-mic night every Wednesday and donates a portion of all proceeds to environmental organizations.
Treehuggers Café has a 4.5-star average from eight Yelpers, won fourth place from CityVoters for Best Brunch of Cleveland in 2009, and has more than 600 Facebook fans. The café is also liked by 88% of Urbanspooners.
