Uinta Brewing Company
Since its inception, the wind- and solar-powered Uinta Brewing Company has made its craft-brewed beers paeans to its home state of Utah. Named after Utah's northeast-running mountain range, Uinta echoes the surrounding landscape in the scope, strength, and size of its beers.
Kings Peak porter and Golden Spike hefeweizen are named after local landmarks, for instance, and the Crooked Line is served in giant 750-milliliter bottles with cork finishes. These brews range from 9% to more than 13% alcohol by volume and inspired Uinta to open its Little Big Beer Store—an onsite store selling big beers with higher alcohol contents. Unlike most big beers, these are actually refrigerated and are ready to drink or dab on a pulse point on a hot day.
The brewing company also operates a brewpub, where visitors can sample Uinta suds on tap while devouring pub food made with local ingredients, such as a local salami and cheese platter or a blackened salmon sandwich on locally made ciabatta bread. Before leaving, guests can grab glassware, apparel, and drinking accessories from Uinta's retail store.
