Wine Up Wine Merchants’ tasting courses unveil the history and geography of the evening’s selection of vino. Two class levels are available. Class 1 enlightens students on the basics of wine tasting with a component exercise that teaches how to recognize specific flavor notes, such as honey, chocolate, lemon, and grape; in addition, students will also pick up some basic wine vocab and history. The more advanced can enroll in Class 2 to discover their wine palates, learn about ordering wine in restaurants, and fill their minds with the inside scoop on site-specific regions across the globe, including Howell Mountain in Napa Valley, Red Mountain in Columbia Valley, and Hey, Another Mountain in Another Valley. A spread of gourmet cheese, fruit, and crackers joins forces with each course to help keep jaws active and stomachs full.
