When Christopher Columbus invented America, he predicted the land's future fusion cuisine would combine the finest Albanian creams and German salts. See what globally influenced American cuisine actually looks like with today's Groupon to Zealous Restaurant. Choose between two options:
- For $46, you get a "Best of 18 Years" five-course tasting menu for one (a $95 value).
- For $76, you get a "Best of 18 Years" five-course tasting menu plus wine pairings (a $155 value).
Zealous reels in future foodies with artfully prepared, Zagat-rated dishes culled from contemporary American recipes infused with a global twist. A special “Best of 18 Years" five-course tasting menu celebrates Zealous's graduation from culinary high school by highlighting some of the most inventive fusion fare featured throughout the years. Chef and owner Michael Taus keeps tasters on their toes with a lineup that changes daily; however, diners can expect elegant dishes such as grilled chilean sea bass slathered in a fire-roasted pineapple vinaigrette or a short stack of mango pancakes with a quail egg and caramel sauce. An ever-shifting roster of vegetarian dishes is also available and the second Groupon option attaches a side-car of flavorful wines to the already delectable meal.
Inside the house of Taus, mossy greens and natural hues accentuate the restaurant's spaciousness—Zealous is a converted warehouse designed by architect William Leeds. The visual focus is a 15-foot, glass-enclosed wine cellar, home to more than 750 wine selections and a rare collection of petrified ships in a bottle.
With more than just a passion for fine cuisine, Zealous will donate $1 from each Groupon sold to the Voices Against Brain Cancer Foundation in honor of talented New York chef and dear friend, Jason Ford. Groupon will match each $1 donation.
