Overpriced, avoid the bar We had a shockingly disappointing lunch in the bar behind the pool.. 18 euros for a disgusting salad in a paper bowl that I tried to eat but gave up on. It was supposed to have walnuts in it but arrived after a long wait without any nuts, just lettuce leaves, a plasticky cheese, a few slices of pear and smothered in yoghurt. We had a drink in the bar later, in the evening and it took almost an hour for our drinks to arrive.. maybe we were over optimistic to ask for margaritas.. but they had a big cocktails menu.. again disappointing after a strangely long wait when we were almost the only ones there. Our rooms were comfortable and spacious but overpriced I would say. When I sat down on some sun loungers down the steps towards the sea I was told that I would have to pay 150 euros to be on that position under an awning. Really?! Premium loungers in a hotel?! I moved to free loungers by the pool.. but felt very irritated by that.

Not bad but not great Nice pool and views of the sea but the staff looked as if they could not be bothered. The salads were rubbish and came in a paper bowl charged at 18 euros. The breakfast was also not great. 30 euros for an uber to Catania town (which was pretty grim with graffiti and bags of rubbish all over the place and not many shops etc.) I won't be coming back to here or Catania.

Not so Grand really I stayed at the Grand Hotel Baia Verde in Catania, Sicily with a large group of friends for three nights while attending a dear friends wedding nearby. We were given preferential rates which were very reasonable, the hotel is quit large situated in a magnificent location right alongside the sea with wonderful views and nice grounds. I was allocated a room on the ground floor with a small terrace, opening up to the garden and large swimming pool, sadly the room was a little dated and really needed some TLC. Excellent most comfortable bed, bathroom a little antiquated and mine had an infestation of ants. No matter how many times you cleared them they were soon back. WIFI was a bit hap-hazard and TV broken. Very nice pool bar and snacks, and very attentive and helpful pool staff, in fact all the staff were friendly and helpful. In summary this could be a wonderful hotel with a little bit of care.

Total disappointment Staff is rude and unprofessional. Only nice workers by the pool. Hotel used to be great place, but “hospitality” is not about baia verde. WiFi didn’t work In general after my stay I have big regret that I choose it, way too overpriced and very very bad attitude.

terrible impossibile to sleep/rest due to the noises from the continuos slamming doors. The doors should close SILENTLY especially in an hotel. Rooms are dirty and out dated no smart TV, incredible! rooms are tiny the entire place is falling a part the selection of some of the guests should be more accurate
