Well located hotel with excellent service I travelled here on my own for the West Ham game - perfect location for me near the train station and in a lovely street near the middle of town. I think I had the superior room which was plenty big enough. Spacious actually. Great service from the staff would recommend.

Hom away from home A place to call Home away from home. Lovely staff, courteous, professional and very helpful. When I checked in I was told that they had given me a room to the front of the hotel and considering that I am staying a month, changed to a room at the back of the hotel and asked if this was suitable. Of course it was, the quieter the better it is. I needed a taxi as my app to order an Uber did not work and they did so without hesitation and offered me a cup of coffee while waiting. When I booked breakfast they wanted to know if I wanted to book this for my whole stay and due to early shifts I declined. They offered me a breakfast instead.... and all this with a smile. My house in Alkmaar is not ready yet as the renovation take longer than expected.... I don't mind. I am very well looked after.

Not a 4 star hotel! We stayed at the Golden Tulip Alkmaar for 1 night with our 2 children in a family room. We liked the friendly staff and free parking. Unfortunately we did not feel this is a 4 star hotel as it is very basic. There is a very bad smell in the corridors and room. The decoration and furnishing feels basic and random. It is functional, but lacks atmosphere.

Great for watching AK Alkmaar. Short journey from Schipol Airport, less than 30 minutes. The hotel is perfectly suited for the AK Alkmaar Football Stadium which is a ten minute walk away. It is 25 minutes walk into the fabulous town of Alkmaar. The hotel has a good onsite Sushi restaurant. The staff are great. The hotel is safe and clean. But it is limited. Breakfast is a basic offering, good variety but quality average. Rooms are ok, functional but again just. The hotel reception doubles up as a bar. Not ideal. So for me it’s a good base for exploring Alkmaar but it is a no frills hotel. If you want a bit more, you need to stay elsewhere.
