Great breakfast and plenty of room for 4 people Anchorage Homewood Suites Hilton with 2 large bedrooms, connected by a large living area with kitchen, and each had our own bathroom. They also had great breakfast with lots to pick from each day. The boys loved the breakfast so much and ate so much that they were not hungry at noon time.

Disappointed, not accessible In general, the hotel was fine. Clean enough. Breakfast was good enough. Staff was very good. The reason for this poor review is that we had booked an Accessible Room. As it happens, the accesible rooms in this property are the most inaccessible rooms possible. First, the room was the farthest possible room distance from the lobby and the lobby elevator and breakfast. Way, way, way at the far end of the hotel. Secondly, the accessible room had a step-over bathtub. Not a walk-in or a shower, but a bathtub to step over somehow. Within that tub, on the far wall, was a single grab bar. No horizontal or at an angle, and no more than that one standard size one. Shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner were all in squeeze tubes requiring two hands to deliver product. How a handicapped person is supposed to let go of a grab bar to manipulate two handed squeeze tubes is unexplained. There are zero grab bars anywhere near the toilet. The furniture in the accessible room at least was flimsy with skinny legs, did not look sturdy. I counted only two handicap parking spaces at the front of the hotel, but admittedly I didn't do an extensive search. I suggest this property and its management seriously reconsider what "accessible" means to their customers. Finally, the property was overpriced. Not the same full-service standard as a downtown hotel, nor even the semi-resort experience of say the Alyeska, but at virtually the same price. But parking is free.

ONE STAR. KEEP CLOSE WATCH ON YOUR BELONGINGS. ONE STAR. WHEN YOUR POSSESSIONS ARE STOLEN from the first hotel you stay at in Anchorage, you know that you are in for a bad Alaska trip. On a recent trip, we spent our first night in Anchorage at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Anchorage, and our coats disappeared! We had no other guests with us or visitors, and only hotel staff had access to our room. There was even a "security" camera in the hall just outside our room. Our efforts to seek help from the housekeeping supervisors and hotel management only led to evasiveness, stalling, and glib, unhelpful responses on their part. (We were never actually able to track down and speak with "someone in charge" in person -- they seemed to only be available over the phone when we were no longer on the premises.) We were not allowed to review camera footage, nor is there any indication that hotel staff or management ever actually bothered to do so. While the front desk attendants were approachable and friendly enough, they could do little to help. (The fate and current possessor of the coats remains a mystery. At least to us.) Compounding the problem was that this hotel seems to be undergoing current major upheavals in managing and staffing, so otherwise routine hotel operations and a clear chain-of-command and accountability seem disrupted. Hotel employees seemed uncertain as to who might be in charge of different hotel functions and staff in certain roles had either recently left or there was someone brand new in charge that the hotel desk staff wasn't actually familiar with. And another thing: while the Homewood Suites accommodations were otherwise simply okay, this hotel was easily the most overpriced (relative to value) hotel that we stayed at during our Alaska trip. (Our hotel experiences elsewhere in Anchorage, Girdwood, and Kenai were fine and the staff at other hotels were nice and accommodating.) There are superior hotels within visible sight of and in the immediate vicinity of the Homewood Suites by Hilton Anchorage, and we would very strongly recommend that you select any one of those other options if you will be staying in Anchorage any time soon (we learned our lesson, and we did). May your stay in Anchorage be more pleasant than ours.

Nice overall The hotel is quite nice, the room was of a decent size, the curtains do a fantastic job hiding the sun. Breakfast was ok, very good coffee. One thing that was not satisfactory is the noise from room upstairs, I could hear every squeak at night. Bring your earplugs!

Stay here? Yes! Very good hotel. Quick access to/from the airport. Shuttle service. Clean. Competent and welcoming staff. Excellent breakfast that included pulled pork, in addition to the usual breakfast foods. The only reason I’m not giving a 5 is that the bathroom towels and bedding need a refresh. They are a bit worn out and feel “thin”. You should feel very confident in booking a room here. I’m already scheduled to return!
