Holiday Inn Express Apex - Raleigh by IHG

Inattentive Management This property was fine, but customer service was lacking and I don't see this as a HIE warranting rave reviews. At check in we weren't given the customary choice between a pantry gift and miles (based on our IHG frequency status) and when we accidentally left a charger and called to speak to the manager about how to get it back, we called/emailed 3x and never received a return call or email from her. Not impressed.

Everything as advertised. Great hotel. Front desk check in was fast and efficient. Room was extremely clean, and newly remodeled. Good water pressure on the 3rd floor, and breakfast in the morning hit the spot. Would stay here again and recommend it to friends.

Holiday Inn - Sans Amenities - Drive on By Never, ever heard of a holiday inn with no laundry room. Why should i pay so much to stay at a hotel then have to take my clothes to a laundromat. Shame on you no housekeeping, no laundry facility. >$1,000.00 for three nights for a bed and breafast? I think not! Comfort Inn is down the street..

Really Poor Overall I am/was staying for 3 nights....when I checked in the front desk person told me I could “opt out” of housekeeping if I wanted to and to just hang a tag on the door which he gave to me. I do not choose to do that anywhere I go, so I didn’t, and the first day I received service as normal, everything was fine. Today I did not receive service so I asked the front desk about it, a new person informed me that there was no longer offering any housekeeping service at all, and that service only occurs when a guest checks out. This is outrageous and really quite gross. Not even trash or towels unless you explicitly ask the front desk for it, the clerk said to just leave by trash and towels outside the door. Additionally, the only vending machine in the entire hotel was completely empty (see attached picture) the entire time I was here and the morning breakfast service was being handled by one woman, whom each morning looked and acted as if she wanted to kill herself and by 7:30 each morning everything except for oatmeal was gone. The phone in my room is non-functional and the Free WiFi at the hotel does not work for even simple browsing tasks. Far and away the worst hotel experience I have had in a very long time.

No Covid Protections Super disappointed to see that there were no Covid protections in place. Traveling during all of this is stressful enough and to be surprised with multiple staff members without masks is just gross in this time and. liability waiting to happen for Holiday Inn.
