Memorable stay They accommodated us with a river front room at check-in. The views of the river were gorgeous, and we could hear the sea lions barking out on the pier. The river walk ran behind the hotel so we were able to walk to Rogue Brewing for dinner. The room was clean and quiet, and they offered a take-away bagged breakfast in the morning. I would stay here again.

No issues Nice, easy to find hotel along main road. We had a 3rd floor corner room, easy to see river and the walking trail. Also a view/hearing of sea lions. Not as noisy as I was expecting, but they are definitely there. With window closed you don't hear them. Did not use pool/hot tub, but they are there and open. Still mask regulations in place. Breakfast is a bag you take back to room. Breakfast sandwich to microwave, muffin, cheese sticks. It was enough and tasty enough. Safeway grocery/gas right next door. Large room with queen bed and pull out couch. ** side note, the actual pier to the sea lions is closed, so if you are staying here specifically for them, you can only get as close as the walking trail that anyone can use.** The hotel is on the east end of town, so not close for walking to restraunts or downtown. Only a quick 5 minute drive to several eating places. Overall no issues and would recommend.

Great location We stayed in four Comfort Inns on our Oregon trip. We will be staying in more in the future as we were impressed with the appearance, comfort, and cleanliness. They all seemed new, with all the conveniences such as many electrical outlets and charging stations. The beds and high quality sheets were very comfortable. We especially chose this motel for its nearness to the sea lions spread out on the nearby pier. They never ceased to entertain. Closing the window did cut out most of the noise. We stayed two nights. With some rain, we spent quite a bit of time in the room, made especially comfortable with a sofa and a pretty carpet. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. Most Comfort Inns were taking COVID precautions and had a breakfast bag. Here the bag was the best with an egg McMuffin type protein sandwich, cheese stick, apples, muffins and juice, and we definitely appreciated the effort. I would definitely stay here if we get the opportunity again to enjoy all that Astoria has to offer.

Dogs! This hotel is clean and friendly, but they neglected to tell us they allow dogs. We love animals too, but not when there is a big dog barking incessantly in the room next to us at 9:30 at night, while it’s owner is out on the town. The manager just said, “we’ll try to reach the owner”. This is not pleasant when you’ve been up since 3am traveling, and are bone tired. No apology, no offer to change rooms, no discount for a return visit. We won’t be staying there again, when they have equally nice hotels “next door” within walking distance. Since our kids live there we’ll be back to visit—just not at this hotel. __

Incompetent staff First of all, we picked this hotel over another hotel because you have guest laundry listed as an amenity and the other hotel didn’t. We asked about it upon check in and the front desk lady told us where it was located. She also told us that if we wanted to use the pool that we had to check in with her to get let in because they are only letting one family at a time in the pool because of covid. So we get settled in and went to the laundry room which had a big “out of order” sign on the door!! Needless to say we were not very happy. We went to the front desk and told the girl about the sign and her only response was to say “ooooooo”. No apology or calling maintenance or anything. So we ended up doing laundry at a gas station of all places. The next morning we woke up to no electricity. Not anyone’s fault I know, but why in the world did the front desk give us frozen breakfast burritos to eat??? Then she told me husband that he could make coffee in the room because they don’t provide coffee here. Ok, I wonder how we are supposed to do either of those things with no electricity. _‍♀️ When we pointed out the fact we can’t cook anything she was just like “idk”. Really dumb answer and she should have come up with a better idea that giving out half thawed food. So we go about our day and come back to find we have electricity but the cable, internet and phone system is out. Honestly we didn’t even try to tell the front desk because they have already proved to be incompetent. So we decide to try out the pool since there is nothing to do in the room. We get signed in and then discover the pool isn’t heated and the hot tub is barely lukewarm. There are no jets circulating so I’m sure something needs to be reset but again, why bother with the front desk as she has not been able to fix a single issue since we arrived. To add to the fun she lets 2 other families join us. _ I can say that the property is clean and being able to hear the sea lions was kinda neat but I will most definitely NOT be staying at another Comfort property again!
