Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Athens, an IHG Hotel

Great location for motorcycling the Windy 9 Great hotel with wonderful staff! From the moment we walked in, everyone was so friendly and helped us with leaving our bikes outside with our truck and trailer. We were there for the Windy 9. Excellent location for this! A lot of nearby amenities like a water park, walking /bicycling paths, tennis courts, dog park, an Applebee's & CVS, ALL within walking distance. The manager Julie was helpful with our one little hiccup. Donna and Billy in the kitchen area great! Make sure to say hi to Billy!! We definitely will recommend this hotel to anyone we know!

Hotel employees make a difference Stay at this Holiday Inn several years ago and at the time the front desk agents acted inconvenienced by guests’ check in. At the time, upon checking in, both front desk agents looked at each other as though neither wanted to be the one to take the responsibility to check in guests. Employees at the front desk really make or break a guest’s experience and at the time I vowed never to return to this and other chained hotels in the area. However, I found myself in the area again recently for one night and was pleasantly surprised that front desk agent training had greatly improved since the last visit and the FDA went out of her way to find a quiet room for me, even if I was only staying one night. Overall, the stay is what you expect from a typical Holiday Inn. Room was cleaned and available ahead of regular check in time. Breakfast the next day was standard, eggs, sausage, juices, cereal, etc. What sets this stay apart from previous visits and from other hotels is the enthusiasm of the employees from check in to check out. Hotel is right in front of the bike path and easily reached by walking to uptown or by car. There is a nice photo gallery of Athens on the first floor. I would consider staying here again on my next visit.

Incredible Hotel with great staff Absolutely love this place and absolutely love the staff. Front desk mgr Ashley is by far the kindest and best there is. Always makes you feel at home and always goes above. She makes you feel at home as soon as you walk in!

Mom’s weekend at Ohio University Visited for mom’s weekend at Ohio University. Further from the campus then I wanted, but not a bad drive. Room was very clean and my daughter and I, loved the breakfast. My only complaint, was there were kids that were running up and down the hall and jumping, making it very loud. Enjoyed my stay otherwise.

Perfectly fine for our group! Check in And check Out was Quick and friendly. The breakfast was free and adequate. The room and hotel itself seemed clean. Would come back here again next time in Athens. Cannot comment on pool Or hot tub as we didn’t get to use them. Keurig in room is nice also.
