Tale of 3 different front desk staff It was the tale of three different front desk staff, forgive me as I didn't log names 1) THE GOOD: The young redhead staff person was awesome. Checked me in, helped me extend my reservation and a couple days into my reservation gave me an extra key when I accidentally left it in my room. 2) THE SO-SO: One morning the sole elevator stopped working. This required me grabbing heavy cases I needed for daily work and lugging them down from the 4th floor. I'm 50 and not a spring chicken anymore so this was a significant problem, but i did it without injuring myself. When I informed front desk, the woman (older, overweight) seemed ambivalent saying someone else had just mentioned it. I'm willing to forgive this as she may not have been sure how to respond (both in the situation and to me) but it just made an already rocky trip worse. 3) UGH: This only happens to me with old white women in the south (I'm African-American). I again accidentally left my key in my room. if I do this, i always give my room and last name. The skinny grey haired woman with glasses insisted I show my drivers license. Admittedly, I am scatterbrained with my key and travel often so requested a new one happens more than I'd like but all I've EVER had to do is give my name and room number. Sometimes it's with my wallet in the room, what if I didn't have my license? Hell, I have photography equipment with me, what the hell do I look like? How would I know such information in such a small town? It's not even a major city. I'm a professional, please let me into my room without more stress. 4) DOUBLE-UGH: This is regards to cleaning staff. Please do not knock asking if I'm checking out if I've got a do-not-disturb tag on my door and it is NOT past check-out. As a professional, I could be on a phone call, zoom meeting, hell it doesn't matter - but I hate this practice. Outside of that, I thought the hotel was fine, rooms comfortable and internet speedy. I was up too early for breakfast and didn't partake any of the other amenities. I'd stay here again with better service but may check other options if in metropolitan Athens again.

Hotel has gone downhill This hotel has definitely gone downhill since my last stay here. It started out well with Megan being very helpful in booking us a room. Check in was fine, but then the problems began. Biggest issue was black mold around the tub, and a tv that did not work properly. We arrived early at the hotel with plans to relax and watch tv most of the night. They have Direct tv, and we were unable to access most channels, except for a few infomercial ones. I got online to see if I could figure out the problem with no luck. Went to the front desk and the clerk had no clue, just xeroxed a copy of available channels. But when we tried to tune these in, all we got was a black screen. So no tv all night ( which is a big deal in a tiny hotel room). The black mold was disgusting and a health hazard. Other smaller issues included the room phone on the desk was dead, and both phones flashed red all night with messages, but they could not be accessed. Again, the front desk clerk had no idea what to do, and we had to put a towel over the nightstand phone so we could sleep. Finally, the road noise outside the hotel made it difficult to sleep, which obviously is not the hotels fault. . On the plus side, the beds were comfortable and my husband loved the homemade blueberry waffles at breakfast. When I explained all this to Megan, the front desk clerk, the next morning, she shrugged it off and said the tvs do that sometime and need to be reprogrammed, which didn’t help me at all. She asked what I wanted her to do about it all, and I said I’d like a discount on my room rate. She was not pleased, but said she would give us a 5% discount which I feel nowhere near makes up for no tv all night and having to bathe/ shower with black mold. I would give this hotel a 2* and feel they need much better customer service and maybe a different tv provider!

Another nice stay. We stay here when we're in Athens. It's clean, comfortable, and welcoming. My husband appreciates the recliner in the room. It's almost as good as his at home. We had a handicapped room and it met our needs. The only thing that would have been better would be a walk in shower.

Nice stay along I-75 It's getting harder to find reasonable and clean lodging along the I-75 corridor. This was a nice Comfort Inn. The pool area has a slide that the kids will love. The beds are comfortable, and there is a good breakfast. Above average stay returning from Florida.
