Don't stay here This hotel is not what it claims to be. It's dirty, the breakfast is almost non-existent, and the staff is slow to respond to issues. Friends also told me after the fact that it's in a seedy part of town.

Stay away Insisted on my paying for a pet deposit for the whole stay instead of when the animal was actually there. Then, when we were leaving, she noticed that I had a cat and got hostile and telling me that I "owed" them $50 for a pet deposit because they didn't allow cats.I told her that I will deal with her after I put my belongings and cat into the vehicle. She stood outside the building and watched me the whole time I was loading my car, like I was a criminal, getting ready to run. When I was done with my business, I walked back to the office and told her that she didn't have to watch me. So she lied and said that she was checking on the picnic table, which was completely blocked by my car. She couldn't see from where she was standing. She kept talking about how honest she is etc, I stopped listening, because I saw otherwise. I got into the office and informed her that I did not owe her any money as I had already paid the pet fee for more days than the animal was here, and that there was nothing printed anywhere restricting what animal can be there. So she checked the room and found it clean and stated that I needed to leave something for her maids. So I left a $20 for her to give to her maids. She then went on and on about how honest she was. I just walked out.

Good for an overnight stop on a road trip Good place to stop for the night on route 88. Rooms have fridge with freezer and microwave. A TOPS supermarket is just down the street.

Stay here at your own risk There are a few good things about this property. There is a good selection of TV channels. The bed was reasonably comfortable. However, the rest is a disaster. The bathroom sink had an unusual film on the faucet. There were sketchy “guests” roaming around and there were bicycles and shopping carts around in the parking lot. The hallways appeared to have been recently recarpeted, however there was a moldy smell and several dehumidifiers running. In addition, there were other strange smells throughout. What could possibly be under the new carpets? The room was very dark, even with all the lights on. The breakfast was abysmal – no eggs of any type, and most of the other items had run out. By 8:00am, there were no pastries, only 1 slice of wheat bread and a few frozen waffles left, no milk, the juice machine was out-of-order. The grounds were not maintained – the grass was tall and needed cutting and there was trash throughout.

It is the "Little Things" We stayed 2 nights and were pleasantly surprised at what value we received here for such little cost. Management of this Super 8 is by far superior to any other Super 8s we have stayed at. There was much thought given to small things that really are big things when it comes to a comfortable stay away from home. Newly renovated room, appeared to have new (or newer) everything in it. AC unit was at eye level with a light directly over the control panel for easily adjustment even if in the middle of the night. Sliding Window easy to use for fresh air. A frig that actually had its own separate freezer unit, one that would accommodate the ice bucket. So no more 2-3 trips each night to get fresh ice because it has melted. Comfortable Bed. Great looking hallway with wall to wall newer thick carpeting. Since the first floor was at basement level they had dehumidifier spaced out in each section for added comfort. We thought the breakfast was great: good coffee, tea, pastries, cereal, waffles etc plus Gluten Free Yogurts. We have stayed at some pretty pricey $200-$300 night Hotels that do not even put out GF yogurts. As a Super 8 Gold Member, I have been critical of other locations in the past. The Bath/Hammondsport location is by far the best managed Super 8 that I have stayed at to date.
