Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Bay City by IHG

Last minute stay…….. Unexpected stay in Bay City and was able to book this motel quickly. The receptionist was genuinely friendly and helpful. Asked for recommendations for evening meals. This entire motel is clean and orderly. The breakfast area was pristine……not even a chair out of place. Got a great nights sleep. Great choice,

better than expected experience! Spent a long weekend there for the US national age group speedskating championships in nearby Midland. I often stay at HIE but was particularly impressed with this one. Everything was very clean and consistent with that I noticed as soon as I left my (clean) breakfast table the staff went directly there to sanitize it. Breakfast layout was great. The wake up call system wasn't working but the staff were truly concerned and fixed it quickly. Tammy was one of the desk staff that was particularly helpful.

Clean room! Our room was very clean, this means so much for a great stay! They also provided excellent customer service at the front desk both night and day. There was a variety of foods hot and cold for breakfast. The location was also good with a lot around the hotel. We will be back.

Chase Anniversary night went pretty good. It's sort of amazing how the quality of stay can vary from IHG HIE from location to location. Stayed at an HEI in Walker, not a great stay, Bay City total opposite. Had to get rid of a Chase Visa night, this hotel was one of very few accepting that promotion in the state of Michigan for the date I needed. I stayed with another chase visa member who booked a separate room. Check in went fine and we arrived sorta early but they still allowed us to grab our rooms. Which was darn nice of em. Both rooms were clean, well appointed for an HIE . The property appears safe and is in a decent part of town across from a meijer and with a party store in their out lot if you need to grab some partying supplies. My room had some wear and tear issues, (chip in the bathtub, a few rubbings of paint on the walls stuff like that , nothing serious.) Other person had no issues except they couldn't get the room cool enough for their liking. Did a carryout from a local mexican joint for dinner with the other room members (which was not a great effort on the restaurant's part) , was going to eat it in the main breakfast area but after we sat down, the room got over whelmed by a small child's birthday pizza party with about 6 kids and 10 adults , so we cowered away in the corner pushing two 2 seat tables together rather than the 4 seater we were at to give the party goers a bit more room and not have us in the middle of their celebration . I would think a party that large would just grab the conference room down the hall. But it worked out fine. Breakfast went off without a hitch kick off was 7 but the food was available about 15 minutes before and the staff kept the area clean and well stocked . It was a sausage kind of day, no paper thin IHG bacon was to be had. OJ quality was really good , cold and not watery like some locations. Coffee never ran out. Over all a very good stay.

Nice stay overall Nice room, good breakfast, clean overall. We had a room on the 2nd floor that shared a wall with the elevator which was quite noisy. Not a huge issue, but would avoid that room next time if we stay. Hotel was recently remodeled including rooms. We'd stay again if in the area.
