Candlewood Suites Bismarck by IHG

The worst place and service in my life. They'll charge more money for cleanliness, and they don't come and clean the room even if it's dirty. The hallway is dirty and the carpet is very dirty. The service is very bad no towels, no trash bag in the room, there's nothing, you are paying a lot of money for nothing.

Great rooms, terrible check-in problems. We had a very mixed experience with this hotel. It was the worst check-in experience we’ve ever had. Check in is supposed to be 3pm, we arrived about 5:30pm and they didn’t have a clean room for us yet. We came back at 7:30pm and they found us a room finally. Or so we thought. We booked a 1 bedroom suite with a separate bedroom and when we walked into the room I noticed it was only a single studio room. So we had to haul all of our luggage back down to the front desk and tell them they gave us the wrong room. The employee tried to say that’s what I booked and that’s all they have. I showed her my confirmation email. Eventually someone else showed up and said she’s still cleaning some rooms!? This is about 5 hours past the check-in time they advertise. She said there was one of the suites available. They were going to give it to the person behind us that was waiting because he also got the wrong room and was waiting for a clean 1 bedroom suite. They finally got us in a room. It was a handicapped accessible room which was fine except the shower was very short and made for someone in a wheelchair. The room itself was very clean and comfortable and well stocked. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable but the couch fold out bed in the living room for our adult son was terrible. He said he could feel the bars of the frame through the thin mattress. The check-in process I give one star and the room I give 4 stars. Not being able to get the room I paid for until almost 8 pm is ridiculous.

A great deal for the price. My only complaint was the door to our suite didn’t close well and had to be slammed. The person at the desk was obviously very stressed out when we got there but was still very nice and professional. Everyone was very friendly. The bed was very comfortable, the tv was smaller than we’re used to. Overall, an amazing deal for the price.

awesome place One of the highlights was their Lending Locker, which allowed me to borrow a crockpot—an unexpected convenience that made my stay more homely. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable retreat after a long day. The staff were friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any queries.

Good for the price It’s a nice hotel for the price. Good mid level. Stayed here a few times and usually clean and professional and friendly staff. Wish it had a complementary breakfast. Most hotels at that price offer something besides coffee. But overall decient.
