Basic hotel in a college town I must admit that I was VERY hesitant to stay here, after reading all of the negative reviews. We needed something close to Memorial Stadium as well as to main campus of IU. It's an older hotel in a Big 10 College town. Is it a 5 Star Conrad Hotel, no! It's not going to be perfect. There is some obvious wear and tear but it was overall, pretty clean. Everything functioned as it should. The bed was clean, comfortable served our needs for a football weekend, where we just needed a place to sleep. We found NO roaches, bugs or other pests. There were obvious stains on the carpet but like I said, it's a hotel in a college town. No problems with noise...it was totally fine.

HOTEL IS CLOSING PERMANTENTLY On 9/27/21 we were notified through Hotels.com that this hotel is closing permanently and our reservations for graduation weekend will now obviously be cancelled. Just a heads up to any guests with future plans to stay at this hotel in Bloomington. Luckily, we booked a second hotel nearby for graduation!

Cockroaches I have stayed in many hotels in my day, some amazing, some ok, and some awful. This was one of the awful ones. Three words: dirty, gross, disgusting. Oh, and one more word: COCKROACHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First they put me in a smoking room, then they put me in the cockroach room. Bathroom not cleaned, bed questionable as the sheets were not neatly in place so I may have slept in a dirty bed. I desperately tried to find another Hotel but everything was booked bc it was move in week at IU. I would have rather stayed in a tent in the parking lot but I didn’t have a tent with me. So sad that the manager/owners are running this pitiful hotel. I was so hungry in the am and I actually almost walked over to the breakfast area but you know what they say, if you see a cockroach there are a lot more than you think!!!! UGH!!!!!!!! Nightmare.

Disappointed!! Pretty disappointed, just a new band aid on an old hotel. Looks nice from the outside, and even the inside lobby/breakfast area looked ok, and the rooms were newly remodeled. But had we noticed earlier, we would of complained of how dirty the room was. We checked in super late, and were so tired, we hadn't noticed all we noticed in the morning. The carpet was so dirty, you could tell it definitely had not been vacuumed, no bags were in the trash cans, the ice bucket had left over water in it, there were no cups in the bathroom or by the coffeemaker, and no packets of coffee. The bathroom mirror had not been cleaned and had splatter all over it. We did not try the breakfast, wasn't sure if it had been cleaned or overlooked also. Very disappointed.

There were more roaches than people in the room! So... last night,, Our original hotel choice was a complete disaster... stay away from the Wingate by Wyndham hotel in Bloomington... rooms are tiny, but "look" nice upon entering. But doesn't take long to realize just how dirty it really is.... a spider crawling across the bed was bad enough...but a dead cockroach _ on the floor was only surpassed in grossness by the LIVE ONE crawling all over the night stand. Yea... we checked even faster than we checked in! We went back to the lobby to check out and had tonwait in line behind another person complaining about how dirty his room was.... best advice, stay away!
