Staybridge Suites Brownsville by IHG

No more it's not because of the quality of the hotel, which is good, but because I had asked to extend the room and the first time they tell me there are no problems and then I confirmed it was all occupied. disrespectful to a client who had already been a week and who had not organized a transfer which he then made in a hurry. not serious

Roaches :( Hotel has lots of mating roaches. It seemed clean at first, but the bathtub was gross and the kitchen area was pretty filthy. Hence all of the roaches. Pay a bit more and go spend your money at a different hotel.

Ant Invasion The second we walked into our room, we discovered lots and lots of tiny ants all over the counters in the kitchen and living room areas. We requested that we be moved to another room to no avail. We were told that they were sold out. The clerk sent two ladies to investigate the ant problem but they said all they could do is spray the place. We did not want to breath the poison all night. Early the next morning, I sat on the sofa with my laptop. Within a few minutes, my laptop, my arms, and my legs had ants. They were all over my screen. Asked the front desk to cancel our reservation so we could move to a different hotel. The front desk clerk said that we would be charged for our entire stay and that the manager she spoke to said no refunds. So we stayed to avoid paying at two different hotels. We ended up staying in our bedroom when we were at the hotel and were unable to enjoy the living room. Needless to say, we were very disappointed and will never stay at Staybridge Suites in Brownsville.

AC Broken. Management didn’t help. Horrible experience. I’m currently writing this review at 2 am because the AC in my hotel room is broken and it is June in Texas. My room has consistently read 80-82 degrees on the thermostat regardless of how low I set it. I went to the front desk regarding the broken AC and they said there are no other open rooms in the hotel so there is nothing they can do. This supposed to be one of the “nicer hotels” in Brownsville that I paid more for and I’m literally drenching in sweat while lying in my bed when I should be sleeping. I would not recommend this hotel. Update 6/29/21 - I reached out to the front desk before I left regarding the broken AC and received no apology. They took down my number and told me that the manager would call me. It has now been about 2 weeks and still no response from the manager. I wrote to IHG regarding my experience and no response. I called the hotel twice and they said that the manager is busy and that he might not ever be able to reach out to me because it’s a busy time of the year. What hotel says that? The funny thing is that the busy manager had time to reach out to Priceline and tell them that the AC worked perfectly and denied any refund. This place is crooked and I high advise against anyone considering staying here. I see other reviews complaining about the broken AC. You are obviously risking a terrible experience if you book here.

Friendly staff... Very clean Great place to stay... was there for one night and was amazed how well I was treated.. I stayed at a 4 star in San Antonio the night before and was not welcomed like I was here at the Staybridge!!! Was offered coffee and snacks before I went to room... btw room was very comfortable.. breakfast buffet had a variety of hot and cold selections... if anyone asked for a certain food ... it would be available for all within 10 minutes... I highly recommend this hotel.. I am an elderly single woman and I felt very safe here... so that’s a big plus for me... feeling safe...
