Stay away! I can’t even believe this is an IHG hotel. Worse than a motel 6. Very rundown condition. The worst part was how dirty the carpeting was. I had to put bath towels down to walk on them. If I didn’t my feet were black. The bare floors weren’t much better and tile was very uneven. They paid no attention to my room preferences.

Cannot recommend this hotel This review is not so much about the issue we had but how poorly it was handled. We traveled for a mountain bike race and stayed for 2 nights. Throughout our stay our door lock kept flashing red and we had to run back down to the front desk to get it rekeyed. Most frustrating when I was carrying a sleeping kid in from the car. We told them at check in but it was never resolved. Not that big a deal, but kind of added to what happened next… The morning of checkout we decided to sneak in a quick swim with my 3 boys. The pool looked cloudy but I didn’t think anything of that until later. While we were in there a man came in and tested the pool water - one of the vials showed bright red almost instantly but I’m not sure what that means either. 10-15 mins into our swim I looked down and my bathing suit was disintegrating. The material was falling apart, and there were white specs on the black suit where the elastic properties broke down. Weird. I got out out and realized my skin had a burning sensation. Started to put a couple things together and told my kids to get out of the pool, and said we should go upstairs and rinse this off. I stopped by the front desk to let her know that I thought the chemicals may be off and showed her what happened to my suit. When leaving the hotel about 45 mins later we saw the pool was still open and someone could still have gotten the same exposure we did. Once on the road home our symptoms continued to escalate for a couple hours for 3 out of the 4 of us. Headache, nausea, burning skin with red rash, red burning eyes, and just general unwell feeling. It subsided by late afternoon/ early evening and the next day we were fine. As we were driving I called the hotel back because it was miserable and I didn’t want anyone else to experience it. Front desk said the maintenance man was trying to fix it and asked if I would like to speak to a manager. I said yes, and wow! I was told everything we experienced was impossible. I was told there was no way I saw a maintenance man as he comes “very early in the am”, and that none of this happened to our bathing suits or our bodies. That their system is salt water and that they can’t possibly have chemicals out of balance. That they are checked monthly by the health dept and everything is perfect so there is nothing they can do and people are swimming in there now. The people swimming in there now is the issue I most wanted addressed as we were sick. I would have loved the token gesture of taking care of my suit (Speedo from Costco so not big $), but would have happily hung up if we could have prevented others from this experience. That wasn’t the call I had though so after she mentioned the health dept I called them and left a voice mail. The lady who called me back said she knew from my message without me mentioning the hotel name who I was speaking about and that they constantly have issues and violations. She said that they thought they had a salt water system and she had to train them it was actually Bromine. That whenever she is there (which isn’t monthly) there’s conflict and confusion about taking the chemical levels seriously, and that they have tried to train the maintenance man on how testing works. That everything I told her is consistent with other complaints and issues they have had. While all of this felt validating after the gas lighting phone call with the manger, it doesn’t fix the core issue - they don’t listen to their guests even when really serious issues arise and will make no remedy to protect future guests from the same harm. Writing this silly long review in hopes to be able to do that and have others avoid that pain and discomfort.

MOST Rudest Erick and guy I’ve ever spoke with in my life that works For IGA For IGA I HAVE USED HOLIDAY INNS FOR YEARS . In several states, I just spoke to the most rudest arrogant male I have every spoke to with IGA. His name Dalton, I was trying to explain to him that my computer was not letting me book my room with points plus cash. And he said he had nothing to do with that, well I know that I stay in motel all over the United States. I than told him I wanted to give him my Discover Card to hold me a room. He said he did not haven’t to & he did not care if I call his Boss. His name was Dalton. Now typically I would not even take the time to write a review. In fact this is the first time I’ve ever wrote a review on a motel. But since he was so over the top rude. YOU BET I WAS GOING TO WRITE. I really hope this JERK LOSES HIS JOB, I understand how hard it is to get good employees. I was in Sales & Marketing for years. This guy needs to be gone he is only hurting you business, IF HE THINKS HE IS ABOVE BEING FIRED!!! I SURE HOPE HE IS WRONG!!!! I will Drive to Columbia Kentucky to get a room. I will Also tell my family to cancel all the reservations for the block of rooms we have reserved for later in the year!!!! GOOD LUCK DALTON

Great distraction from the storms! Dalton was AMAZING! We stayed the night with our 6 year old Granddaughter who is terrified of storms. We only love about 10 miles away, but we don’t have a basement and had been warned all day that there was a very high probability of tornadoes. We got a room with a jacuzzi tub, brought some modeling clay and nerf guns. We ordered pizza and wore her out and she ended up sleeping through the emergency alerts at 3 am. Dalton was manning the place and was extremely knowledgable and very helpful. We were very impressed by this young man. Please give him a proper shout-out!
