Good hotel, needs some attention I would rate the Best Western in Carpinteria with a total of 7/10. We stayed there 4 nights. Overall the price for what you get is 10 to 20% too high. Pro: - The hotel is really nicely done, interesting building, nice Pond - The rooms are spacious - Really good water pressure - Sarah on the counter is super friendly - Close to highway - Good beds Cons: The hotel cost in average 250$ per night during our stay, without breakfast. However if you need toilet paper, you actually need yo ask for it because the rooms are only cleaned when you specifically ask for it and the utilities (also coffee pads). While one does not need new towels every day, cant the staff not at least look for 2 min for utilities (toilet paper, soap etc)? The whole hotel has inside a little bit the 'used' look. Coffee machine for the most part broken, dryer broke down. Partially no towels at the pool. One day restaurant was aimply closed, no notice why... as a guest you need to ask too often and take care of things by yourself. Staff was for the most part friendly. mostly friendly (especially Sarah)! however not all. During checkout not asked how the stay was... Close to highway (noisy). Overall not a bad experience, however could have been better

Loud and $200 fees This hotel had loud, out of control families and they put a $200 fee on my card without telling me. When I checked in, I asked if late checkout was available. They said past 3 pm they would have to charge me, but they could give it to me until 3. I didn’t need late checkout – I was out of the hotel at 10 AM, but I kept the room to keep my luggage there because they had said it was no problem and I had a late flight. If they had said there was a fee I absolutely would’ve just checked out at 10 AM. I checked my email at noon and saw a $200 fee on my card. They had charged me $200 for late check out with no notice. The front desk suggested I call the manager and gave me “her phone number” which was the number to the front desk. I went back and got her email and sent a message and never heard back. So if they offer you a late check out, check your bill! The hotel was also wild – drunk adults yelling at people in the parking lot,, kids running down the halls, knocking on every door. I have stayed at this hotel number of times for convenience, but I can’t do it again. :) I never leave reviews, but hope this one can help someone.

Don’t trust the “Privacy Please” sign here!! Hotel will not honor the “privacy please” sign. I travel a lot and make sure it is firmly in place when I leave a room for the day. Their maintenance person had to put a new tv inside the room so he took the sign off the handle and placed it on the floor like it fell off on its own. This placed didn’t care, I asked to speak to the manager and the lady went in the back office to get Deysi Ordaz and was back there for a minute or so and only to come out and say the manager wasn’t in (translation the manager didn’t want to deal with a pissed off customers and told her to tell me she wasn’t in like a little coward. If you can’t handle this stuff get out of management). Don’t trust them if you have anything valuable and take everything out of your room unless you don’t mind someone going through your things.
