Nice Convenient Location and Place to Stay The Sleep Inn and Suites is located behind a mall off I-64 tricky to get to. It is convenient to get to Monticello and UVA. Check-in was smooth and the room was spacious and comfortable. Everything was fine. We did not try the breakfast. The rate was affordable. Nice stay overall.

I will stay somewhere else next time. I am baffled by the high reviews. The hotel is ok. Just ok. It is not clean. There is visible dust and dirt, and the hall carpets really need vacuuming. The room is small and dimly lit. Worse, the room is very warm and humid, and changing the temperature on the thermostat does nothing - I can only assume it is disconnected. It's winter, and I am always cold, but I am sitting here literally sweating. I would not stay here again, and I wish I had not believed the reviews and booked somewhere else instead.

Many good things but not comfortable This hotel is well priced for the area, in a convenient location, and has a solid breakfast. The staff are all very pleasant. There is a fridge and microwave in the room. However, the bed was not comfortable and the room was quite small. Cleanliness could have been better.

Not worth over $200 The Sleep Inn on 5th St was our choice for an overnight in Charlottesville to attend a wedding. At $235 for the night, we weren’t expecting top of the line but we also didn’t expect low budget. Our bathroom smelled of sewage. While sink/toilet and surround looked newish, the bathtub, tub wall, and floor looked cobbled together from various “updates” or repairs. Oh, and a bulb was out in the bathroom. They claim “free wifi” but no network ever came up on either of our phones. The bed linens and beds were perfectly nice. The parking lot either had the lines drawn too close together or no one else staying knew how to park. We needed a can opener to get in and out. Free coffee bar and breakfast were as expected: scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, cereal, orange juice. And bananas. The final piece that forced this 3-star review… with a new puppy at home, ironically we thought we’d get to sleep in a little without the puppy to wake us… only to discover around 5am that the incessant barking we heard was from the kennel NEXT DOOR. Won’t be back…
